FRIDAY-SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19-21, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM

This class will introduce weavers to native black willow bark, a very strong, flexible and beautiful fiber uncommonly used for basketry.  Students will be provided with hand cut bark strips to process (clean of outer bark) and weave into a small round or square bottom basket of their choosing. Optional design variations will be on display and students are encouraged to create freely.  A variety of twining techniques will be taught in addition to cordage spinning. Bark harvesting will be discussed. All skill levels welcome.  The materials fee is $140.
