Rosh Hashana Tashlich service with families of the WRJC.

From Rabbi Robbi:

Todah Rabbah (thank you very much!) to all who participated in making our Rosh Hashana services so beautiful! To all the readers, Torah chanters, schleppers, greeters and more, we could not be a community without you!  To our board president, Sue Green, and our outstanding Executive Director, Claudie Goldstein, who work tirelessly behind the scenes, I am so grateful to have you as partners in the holy work of the WRJC. Jami Delgado organized a beautiful family service and Tashlich at Draper Preserve,  and the numbers of people that showed up - Babies to Bubbies! indicate a hunger for Jewish life in our valley. Thank you to Al Luray for your shofar finesse - helping us fulfill the mitzvah of hearing the shofar. Our sacred  partners at St. Thomas, Fr. Ken Brannon and Judianne Fuller, Parish Administrator,  who embrace and welcome our worship there, mean the world to all of us. Thank you for giving us a warm home.

For those of you back in your home nesting places over Yom Kippur, I wish you a meaningful fast and say "L'hitra'ot" - until we meet again. See you soon! To those of us joining together on Yom Kippur, I want to remind you to wear white if so moved. Please see my article in the Shofar for reasons to do so.

If you join us on Yom Kippur and own a shofar, or just want to blow the shofar, I invite you to come up at the last moments of our closing (Ne'ilah) service to do one GIANT final blast. Kids welcome, too!

G'mar Chatimah Tovah - may we be written for a good year!

l'shalom,

Rabbi Robbi

Tuesday, September 18          7:30 pm   Kol Nidre service
Our Kol Nidre service this year is dedicated to the memory of our beloved Sue Me ndelsohn. The Bruch Kol Nidre arrangement will be performed by Cynthia Woolley, pianist and Linda Parker on the violin. Cynthia and Linda are members of the Wood River Orchestra, an organization Sue helped to found and participate in until her passing. They were both so honored to be as ked to perform as a tribute to Sue, and we are grateful to them for helping us remember Sue with fondness and gratitude for her time with us.
