Meet Onyx. At just two years old, this purebred Great Dane should be at the prime of his life. Instead, Onyx arrived at Greenmore as a local owner surrender, discarded because his family "got a puppy" and decided they no longer had room for him.
He is currently weighing in at 114 lbs, significantly underweight for his frame, and is showing the clear signs of long-term neglect. More than his physical hunger, Onyx is scared. He has been uprooted from everything he knew and is struggling to process why his life changed so suddenly.
Onyx is a gentle giant who has been waiting for someone to finally put his needs first. To get him healthy, stable, and ready to find a family who will treat him as a lifelong member, we are starting from scratch with his medical care:
- Full Medical Intake: Comprehensive exam and blood work.
- Neutering: A vital step in his health and long-term well-being.
- Nutrition & Care: Specialized feeding and care to help him reach a healthy weight safely.
This $5 Friday, we are asking our village to step in and cover the costs of his medical care.
Thank you for being the safety net for dogs like Onyx who are let down by their families when they need them most.
