Ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Costa Rica with Praying Pelican Missions, networking with local churches and connecting mission teams to  life- changing ministry opportunities.
"We have prayed for this for 2 years!"
What would cause Pastor Armando to exclaim "We have prayed for this for 2 years!"?

After a week of intentionally pouring into the three Iglesia Biblica churches under the direction of Pastor Armando, the church is experiencing more growth than it has before!

In seven days the team from Radiant Church in Michigan hosted two movie nights in an open-air setting in two different locations.  We also held two church services where the team shared the Word of God, along with testimonies and a powerful drama.  20 bags of groceries were delivered to people in the community who needed physical nourishment and nourishment in their souls!  Finally, we helped start the physical enlargement of one of the smaller church buildings.

All of this helped in bringing new people who have never attended any of the churches events!  In one service alone, 17 people entered the church for the first time ever!  Not only that, after hearing the Gospel clearly explained, they came forward to give their information to Pastor Armando so that he could continue to reach out to them!

And here is where Pastor Armando exclaimed, "We have prayed for this for 2 years!"  Seeing a pastor's vision become a reality is what we love to see.  It was amazing to watch Pastor Armando and his wife transform from broken vessels when the team came, to being completely recharged and ready to continue ministry in Santa Barbara when the team left to go back home.

The work doesn't stop after the team leaves though.  With such an influx of new people, Pastor Armando went straight to work with his leaders to formulate a strategy to keep the fruit from the visiting team.  Those who gave their contact information are now receiving home visits and the leadership is constantly re-evaluating to see how they can assimilate them into the local church.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:11

This woman was so excited that Christian missionaries had finally come to town!
We felt heavy spiritual opposition and heard some weighty prayer requests as we went to 20 families delivering groceries and the hope of Jesus Christ.
The highlight for me (Nate) is seeing our local pastors being ministered to by the team.  All week long we are a source of encouragement and love!
