 GLOBAL MISSIONS FOCUS

THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21:
Pastor Chad McCallum will share from his experience in working with missionaries around the globe.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 - Our Guest Missionary will be Rob Trenckmann from Josiah Venture ministry in Hungary.
WHAT IS FAITH PROMISE GIVING? Faith Promise giving is our commitment made to missions, usually done at the time of missions focus. We look to the Lord "in faith", asking how much He would have us give, then promise to give as the Lord directs. Our regular tithes and offerings are needed in the work of the church, but are not sufficient to get the gospel to the world. Faith Promise is a pledge between you and God. Step out "in faith" - and you will be surprised what God can do!

FAITH PROMISE COMMITMENTS for the coming year will be collected on Sunday, Sept. 21 & 28.

Buy this beautiful bookshelf and help drill a clean water well in Haiti!
This canoe bookshelf was hand-made by a group of skilled craftsmen at Hayward Wesleyan. There are about 100 man hours in the construction of it. Bids will be taken and all proceeds from the sale will go towards our Water Well project.
Bids are being taken through October 31 (starting bid is $250).

We are also collecting donations from the Rice & Beans Challenge, and any other donations people want to give. Total cost of a clean water well is $10,000. Right now we have over $6,000 towards the goal!
"BOILER ROOM" PRAYER MEETING on Monday, October 22
A church-wide prayer gathering will be held here at the church at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

“AWAKENING SUNDAY” -- October 28
If you have interest in being baptized on that day please talk to a pastor or contact the church office. Or, if you have a story of how God is at work in your life, please pass it along to Pastor Chad at [email protected] .
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE - Grocery bags are available in the foyer for you to take home, fill and return with suggested items listed on bag (or any non-perishable items). You have the opportunity to help provide 100 food baskets for people in need! Monetary gifts for turkey certificates are also gratefully accepted.

Children’s Jackets, Shoes, Hats & Mittens needed ….. The Overcomers Ministry will be making their annual missions trip to the First Nation Ojibwe Reserve in Northern Ontario October 26-28th to provide Thanksgiving dinner to people in this community of 900 and bring children’s jackets, shoes, hats and mittens (new or nearly new). The last few years HWC helped with the jacket donations.  Please bring them in to the church by October 22.

Operation Christmas Child .........we have shoeboxes available for people to take and fill for needy children around the world, using the instructions available. This organization also provides ways for recipients of the boxes to hear the Gospel and enroll in a discipleship program called "The Greatest Journey". You can be a part of this worldwide effort to grow the Kingdom of God even in places where the Gospel has never been heard. Deadline to return the shoeboxes is November 18.
Membership @ Hayward Wesleyan Church
HWC is part of a denomination (a large network) of churches called The Wesleyan Church. Recently, our denomination enacted a big change in its approach to local church membership. The Wesleyan Church now requires an annual “reaffirmation” of membership. Each year at this time, church members will be asked to renew their membership commitments. For those who are not already members, if you have interest in becoming a member of HWC please contact the church office or email here and we will follow up with next steps! If you have further questions, please feel free to contact any of our pastoral staff.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month ! The Church Board invites you to show your love and appreciation to our pastors in any way you choose - a card, an encouraging word, and most of all your prayers.
