GLOBAL MISSIONS FOCUS
Throughout the month of October we have planned a number of activities to call attention to ways that God is at work in the world and how we can partner in that effort. We are praying that our global missions month will challenge you, encourage you, and educate you!
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7 - Our Guest Missionary will be Phil Smart from World Hope, International.

View our "Unreached People" Wall
and hear about our
"Rice & Beans" Challenge!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 - Our Guest Missionary will be Adam Jones, Director of the Dearborn Project (ministry to Arabs)

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21 - Pastor Chad McCallum will share from his experience in working with missionaries around the globe.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 - Our Guest Missionary will be Rob Trenckmann from Josiah Venture ministry in Hungary.
WHAT IS FAITH PROMISE GIVING? Faith Promise giving is our commitment made to missions, usually done at the time of missions focus. We look to the Lord "in faith", asking how much He would have us give, then promise to give as the Lord directs. Our regular tithes and offerings are needed in the work of the church, but are not sufficient to get the gospel to the world. Faith Promise is a pledge between you and God. Step out "in faith" - and you will be surprised what God can do!
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE starts this Sunday, October 7. Grocery bags will be available for you to take home, fill and return with suggested items listed on bag (or any non-perishable items). You have the opportunity to help provide 100 food baskets for people in need! Monetary gifts for turkey certificates are also gratefully accepted.

In the upcoming weeks , you will hear about many opportunities to give and bless others. Watch for more information on our Rice & Beans Project, Overcomers Coat Drive (for children), Youth Prayer Partners, Operation Christmas Child, Christmas 4Kidz.
"The Insanity of God" will show at the Park Theater on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 starting at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). Free will donations accepted, otherwise there is no charge for this event. There will be popcorn!
" The Insanity of God"  tells the true faith-testing story of missionaries Nik and Ruth Ripken as they journey into the depths of the world seeking out the persecuted church, and asking the question: IS JESUS WORTH IT?

Membership @ Hayward Wesleyan Church
HWC is part of a denomination (a large network) of churches called The Wesleyan Church. Recently, our denomination enacted a big change in its approach to local church membership. The Wesleyan Church now requires an annual “reaffirmation” of membership. Each year at this time, church members will be asked to renew their membership commitments. For those who are not already members, if you have interest in becoming a member of HWC please contact the church office or email here and we will follow up with next steps! If you have further questions, please feel free to contact any of our pastoral staff.
