What's Happening From Heidi...
Happy September-
I am sad to say that the summer is slowly winding down and with this weekend being the last unofficial weekend of summer, let’s be sure to get out and enjoy it safely. Let’s soak in the sun and be sure to relax. I love summer, but I also love bonfires and hoodies. I love apple orchards and Friday night lights. As my children begin the school year, I hope to create the memories that we all wish for ourselves and our families-the ones that are never forgotten and are cherished. I am sure that we all have plans to do this or to do that and we always think that we are running out of time, so I am here to remind you to slow down and take stock of your life. Live in the moment because you never know what tomorrow is going to bring. I say these things because of the tragedy that has struck our community this last week or so. Say I love you and give those hugs even to your cranky 17 year old that is pissed at you and the world right now. Hug them tighter and
just a little bit longer. Remember the little things and that life is short. We send our
well wishes to the Olson family and to those closest to them. You all are in our hearts and we are here to grieve with you-to hold your hand-to hug you just a little bit longer.

September 15th is our annual Military Appreciation/Business Fair on South Post. We are inviting those businesses that are looking for people to let the chamber know if you would like to attend. We provide the food, entertainment, and door prizes to show the folks from Fort McCoy and Volk Field that Sparta is here for everything that you and your family may need or want.

Music in Mueller Square returns on September 16th with a brand new act. Bring your own chair and beverages and be sure to get your butt down there for a fun-filled adult evening. We will end the MiMS year on October 7th with an Open Mic Night. Be sure to call the chamber at 608-269-4123 to get on the list. You will get 15 mins or two songs and the chamber will supply the sound system.

Fallfest is just about ready to go to print. We have new and exciting activities taking
place this October from the 6th to the 8th, including ax throwing, kids pedal pull, and minnow racing-yes, I said minnow racing...ALSO on October 8th is the Sparta Area Fire Departments’ First Ever Block Party. They will have a corn hole tournament, tours of the station and of the trucks, music, and food well into the evening. Sparta is the place to be on Saturday, October 8th. Be sure to follow the chamber’s Facebook page to stay up to date on everything Sparta.

Make-A-Difference Week is set for October 17-22. We are always looking for help or if you know a high school student that needs hours, please send them our way and we can get them connected with the right people.

Our Open-Air Market is set for three Saturdays-October 29th, November 5th and November 12th.

October 1, 2022 Kriskindlmarkt registration will open online on the
Kriskindlmarkt Facebook page, the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, and our website https://www.bikesparta.com/signature-events/.

Please do not call the office beforehand as we can’t promise anything. Good luck
and we are looking forward to this year's event!
