| We will picnic indoors in Fellowship Hall beginning at 11:30, with a brief Offering Dedication service before eating. Please bring your favorite salad to share and birthday cake will be enjoyed for dessert. No reservation required. Come join this time of fellowship together. | |
Vacation Bible School is coming in June and we need volunteers!
- Help with kids ages 3yrs old to 5th grade.

Two sessions: Hiland (June 9-12, 6:00pm-8:30pm) and Northmont (June 16-20, 9:00am-12:00pm)
- There are a variety of "jobs" to choose from.
- You don't have to volunteer for all days, or both weeks - you can pick which days work for you.

As you know, over the past several months we have been celebrating our centennial by remembering some important moments in Northmont’s past. One of the most unique memories for many is the preparation and performance of the Madrigal.
Later this summer, we are going to be putting together a display of Madrigal pictures and artifacts- and we need your help! If you have anything that you can contribute to this display, please contact Pastor Ben so we can start collecting these items. Thanks very much!

Sunday is Pentecost. Ten days ago, on Ascension (forty days after Easter) the resurrected Jesus left the scene. The disciples have been praying earnestly for the coming of the Holy Spirit, and sure enough, on the next big Jewish holiday, Shavuot, fifty days after Passover (hence the Greek title, Pentecost), the Holy Spirit descends on the gathered disciples. It’s interesting to note that the emphasis in the Shavuot readings is the giving of the Ten Commandments — the laws that govern Jewish life — while the Christian holiday celebrates the giving of the Holy Spirit, who governs Christian life.
We say farewell to the Chancel Choir for the summer after Sunday. The choir has worked diligently all year to provide beautiful music to lead and inspire the congregation. Singing in choir is an enormous commitment but it yields tremendous rewards. Please take a moment to thank a choir member for their service.
Meanwhile, we continue to pray, “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.”
