A vitally important question and it’s one that just might save lives: what is egress? Firefighters all agree that basement fires are among the most dangerous and challenging fires to encounter at a house or office. It is frustrating and dangerous for the first responders because not only do countless homes not have egress, but some that do have a system that does not meet code, which can provide a false sense of safety.
Come join Egress Pros and Asst. Chief Fire Marshall Andrew Schmitt where you will learn how to design an egress system that exceeds NYS and Federal code. Speed, reliability, and longevity are a few of the important attributes of an egress window system.
This program will cover the following topics (2LU/HSW):
- Why is egress is important
- NYS required egress code
- What are egress options: egress window system, walkouts
- Permit process ( concerns)
- Share & review Egress Pros CAD drawings
- The Egress training system
- Firefighters discuss and demonstrate basement fires and Egress
