Brockton - APCSM Farmers Market-Style Event Sun, Nov 8, noon - 3p. Before the winter weather approaches, the Animal Protection Center decided to host a farmers market-style event to help get the word out about our available animals for adoption while raising funds for the shelter!
This is an outdoor event and is on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that our visitors please wear a mask while on the premises. Social distancing protocols will be in place during the event. The health and safety of our shelter community is top priority. As 2020 has been a tough year for all, we hope to get the word out about our shelter and raise funds to keep our homeless animals happy and healthy before finding their FURever homes. Brockton - Mopars of Mass Cruise for Veterans Day Sun, Nov 8th, noon. For the past few years Darrin Sylvia has been in touch with the Brockton VA hospital to host an event at the complex. We typically do the Flag Day retirement ceremony at the VA and raise money for the Vets. We would like to setup a parade around the complex at the VA hospital for the veterans there. They will be able to see the car parade from their windows, or they may come outside - weather depending.

Due to public health concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic, the November 2020 Burial Hill Tour has been canceled as an on-site event, but will be presented virtually. Plymouth - Nature Wtiting 2 - Online Fri, Nov 6, 6:30p. This online program will focus on creative nonfiction in nature and environmental writing, specifically the personal essay. You'll receive a few short essays to read prior to our meeting and in the first of this 2-session class we'll discuss the readings in regard to technique and content, and then spend much of our time writing from prompts. In between sessions, you'll craft your own piece so that in the second, we'll discuss our writing experience, have time to share our writing, and spend more class time practicing our craft with additional prompts. . Presenter: Kim Hoff, Teacher/Naturalist at Arcadia, a nature writer and essayist who has written for Mass Audubon's Explore and just had an essay published with Northern Woodlands Magazine. This course is appropriate for writers of all levels. Level 1 is not a pre-requisite for Level 2, though familiarity with nature and environmental writing is helpful.
