Every other Tuesday at 7:30 pm - Next class Oct. 29

Abe, Jake, Mo and More: The Role of Personality Development in the Bible
We ask, "What is so-and-so like?  Are they quiet, loud, weak, boisterous, aggressive?  Do they teem with insight or are they impulsive?" The presupposition of the above questions is that a person has an unchanging personality which can be pinned down once and for all.
In this course we will see how Biblical characters like Abraham, Jacob, Moses and others, in fact undergo change and development. We will learn how they grow and in this way become models for us in our own struggles and striving.

Join Dr. Davin Wolok and Cantor Michael McCloskey as we explore the importance of legacy and our role within the world in Judaism. The theme of the year is the Jewish Pride Curriculum and explores the Great Ideas our civilization gave the world.  These will include but will not be limited to:
  • The weekend
  • Payday (paying employees on time)
  • Charitable giving
  • Ecology (Animal Rights, Urban Greenbelt, Crop Rotation)
  • Compulsory Education, Class Size Limits and Adult Education
  • Asylum and Protection of Disenfranchised
  • Census
The group will meet every Thursday at 8:10 am for 50 minutes over light breakfast and coffee.
