  • Part 2: "What is Wrong with the River?"  This panel discussion with John Portnoy and Andy Koch will cover what happened when the river was diked in 1909; what happened when the dike failed in the 1970s; what is expected when the river is restored.

  • Part 3: "The Critter Talk: What Lived, Lives and Will Live in the River" 
    Barbara Brennessel and Ethan Estey will review the studies on animals and rare species of the Herring River: How the dike has compromised the habitat of river herring and diamondback terrapins and the prospects for these species when the restoration is accomplished.
    There will also be a summary of the other species which are the subject of surveys and monitoring projects.
