A Note From

I am pleased to share the latest progress on the
Where Dreams Begin Campaign. In addition to opening the renovated Matthew and Carolyn Bucksbaum Campus last summer, we also completed fundraising for the capital portion of the campaign.
As we focus on the goals laid out in our endowment campaign, gifts of any size are celebrated. Our deepest gratitude goes to AMFS Trustee Anne Reyes and Chris Reyes for their $1 million commitment to create the Anne and Chris Reyes Scholarship in our endowment. This gift will support countless young musicians in perpetuity.
Thanks to the support of so many community members, we matched Joan Harris and the Irving Harris Foundation's challenge grant and now have a $2 million fund to maintain our community's beloved performance hall and underwrite the Winter Music Series in perpetuity.
All of us at the AMFS are grateful to our donors and patrons. Every gift to the endowment is an investment in our promise to be an unsurpassed summer institution of classical music education, performances, and presentations.

Successful Completion of the Harris Hall Match!
|
|
A packed recital in Harris Hall |
|
The $1 million matching grant from Joan Harris and the Irving Harris Foundation has been successfully completed! A very special thanks to AMFS Trustee Michael Klein and Joan Fabry for making the final gift. Nearly 100 donors participated in the match and invested in maintaining the facilities of our cherished performance hall as well as endowing a fund to support the Winter Music Series.
Though the match is complete, if you would like to be a part of Harris Hall's legacy, gifts of any size are still celebrated and can be made online or by contacting Barbara Lish, Campaign Associate, at blish@aspenmusic.org or 970.205.5065.

Pearl Zeid Memorial Scholarship for Piano
|
|
Pearl Steinberg went to nearly every piano recital in Harris Hall and concerto in the Tent, and countless masterclasses and student recitals on the Bucksbaum Campus whether or not she was solo or had a family member in tow. To honor the joy Pearl felt each summer at the AMFS, her daughter and AMFS Trustee Judith Steinberg has created the Pearl Zeid Steinberg Memorial Scholarship for Piano. This scholarship will be awarded to deserving piano students, thus carrying on her legacy of encouragement of and devotion to young students.
Scholarships are an important recruitment tool to help students attend so they may explore their instrument and take chances in the classical music field. Support for endowed scholarship funds at the AMFS ensures financial support for the world's best students in perpetuity. A donor may create a tuition-only or a full scholarship with an establishing gift of $100,000 or $200,000, respectively.
Alternatively, gifts of any size may be designated for existing endowed scholarship funds. Many scholarship funds were created to honor our talented artist-faculty, but are not at the value necessary to fully support a student at the AMFS.
If you have questions about how you can support our students through gifts to the endowment now and through planned gifts, please contact Barbara Lish, Campaign Associate, at blish@aspenmusic.org
or 970-205-5065.
