Final Tree Lighting: UCSF workers install holiday lights on the roof of the Laurel Heights campus – the final year that UCSF will put up the 40-foot tree before moving out of the building. Thirty-six strands of lights with 32 bulbs each make up the tree, which has been a tradition for more than 50 years, dating back to when the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. owned the building.

Appathon Entry Reminder:  The deadline is approaching for a competition that will pair UCSFers with UC Berkeley engineering students to create an app to improve research, clinical practice or patient care.  Learn more  and  submit a proposal  by Dec. 31.
