Connie, you are not alone!  I get this question about 10 to 20 times per week.  Here is the simple answer.  All wheat contains gluten which can cause a multitude of healthy issues including weight gain, headaches, acne, joint pain and more.  Whole wheat bread also causes a massive spike in blood sugar which is horrible for you.  The Glycemic Index of a Snickers Candy Bar is 55.  Whole Wheat Bread has a Glycemic index of 72!!  As you can see the bread spikes your blood sugar more than a candy bar.  This blood sugar spike causes a chain of chemical reactions in the body that ultimately lead to weight gain and poor health.
