"Winning Amelia" Nominated for Emmy for Best Event Coverage Program
The Amelia is excited to announce that the one-hour TV special "Winning Amelia" was nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Suncoast Chapter for an Emmy in the category of Best Event Coverage Program. The show, covering the 2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, was produced by Gemstone Media and first broadcast on WJXT and WCWJ in Jacksonville, Florida. The program was then broadcast nationally, in prime time, on NBCSN.

“The Amelia has become a truly premier automotive event,” said Executive
Producer, Ray Hays. “But it is more about the people and passion that drives them that made our show worth watching. For 25 years, The Amelia has been the crossroads of the unexpected and the incredible. The event brings thousands of people to Amelia Island to celebrate race car drivers, race cars, touring cars, and the innovative engineering and styling of everything motorized on wheels since the Benz Motorwagen of 1886.”
The one-hour broadcast included stories about a million-dollar barn find Mercedes, insider stories about how NASCAR and IMSA race teams raced around the rules and a class of rock star's cars paired with guitars.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our team and our partnership with Bill Warner and The Amelia Island Concours Foundation,” said Gemstone President, George Birnbaum. "We are especially proud that it benefits local charities. Proceeds from the commercial sponsorship of the program benefited the Foundation which has donated more than $3.75 Million to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, Spina Bifida of Jacksonville and other local charities."
