Uniting Agriculture and Medicine to Support Food Sovereignty and Health Justice for All

Dear Community,

You are invited!

Food as Medicine Global is honored to partner with the One Sacred Earth (OSE) Project on the Global Day of Gratitude. Initiated by Jamie Harvie, the OSE Project brings together partners from around the world to coordinate a collective day of gratitude on Friday, June 20 or Saturday, June 21, 2025—aligned with the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.

In the face of the climate crisis, species loss, and other global challenges, we are called to recognize and honor the deep interconnection of all life. One example of this perspective is the One Health approach, which acknowledges the vital link between human well-being and the health of animals, plants, and ecosystems—the more-than-human world.

As a partner in this meaningful project, we invite you to take just a few minutes (five or less) to anonymously reflect on your relationship with the more-than-human world through a brief online activity. Your reflections will be woven into a collective gratitude invocation that will be shared as part of this global practice and serve as the opening of our annual conference.

Thank you for your support and engagement!

Our Why

The idea of food as medicine resonates with many in health care and food production. Nutrition is increasingly integrated into health professional training, patient care, and discussions around farming, fishing, ranching, and other food systems. However, people across many communities who want to eat well cannot access healthy or even enough food. Many of those producing and providing our food and health care navigate a multitude of inequities.
