Do you ever walk into a grocery store convinced that you're only going to buy the two things, and only the two things that you went to the store for? Do you, like me, make the foolish decision to bypass the row of carts and the stack of baskets feeling confident that your shopping excursion does not require these receptacles? And then five aisles later you find yourself playing grocery store Tetras with boxes of cereal, a gallon of milk, freezing cold ice cream, a loaf of bread and the necessary 12 pack of soda. The check-out lane never feels farther away then when your arms and fingers are going numb from the weight of the items being carried. And you finally sigh a breath of relief when you hastily spill the supposed "two items" on to the conveyer belt.
When we carry heavy things, especially for a long duration of time, there is an overwhelming sense of relief when we lay them down.
No matter what we've stacked up and are now trying to carry, it could prove too hard to sustain. Don't forget that there are ways to lighten the load. It's each of our responsibility to seek out supportive measures and make the effort to utilize them. Maybe that's a grocery cart. Maybe it's coffee with a friend. Maybe it's simply saying out loud, "help."
Each day brings a new juggling act. A new level of grocery store Tetras that we're left to maneuver. Don't forget to look for the resources and tools that may be right in front of you! And more importantly, don't forget to point them out to your workmates and your friends.
