AMP SoCal 2020 Annual Summit- B2B Matchmaking Extended into July Due to overwhelmingly positive response and demand, we are extending our virtual B2B Matchmaking appointments into the month of July! We will schedule virtual matchmaking appointments using WEbex teleconferencing with participating OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. To ensure this is as productive as possible, we will pre-screen suppliers and only schedule appointments with matching OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers that are seeking specific types of products or services that suppliers provide. To help suppliers prepare for their appointments we've created a short webinar to review the Do's & Don'ts, and the best way to get the most out of your time with the OEMs. The webinar is now available on our website. CMTC's Return to Work Guide While most manufacturers are back to work, the struggle to keep facilities safe and compliant with the latest rules and regulations regarding workplace safety have just begun. Aerospace Industry Reshaping Begins To Deal With COVID-19 Effects The COVID-19 pandemic is reshaping aerospace and, about two months into the sector’s worst crisis ever, its future shape is becoming clearer. COVID-19's Potential Impact on Global Technology and Data Innovation The global uncertainty caused by COVID-19 has inspired much speculation about the future of geopolitics, technological progress, economics, and culture. The Atlantic Council’s GeoTech Center submitted a questionnaire to more than 100 technology experts to record their expectations about the impact of COVID-19 on innovation technology and data. COVID-19 Webinars and Virtual Forums Throughout Southern California daily and weekly webinars are offered to assist business owners and answer questions about federal emergency relief loans and other business financing options and resources. CDC Small Business Finance hosts a daily webinar at 10am weekdays, Monday through Friday for CA, AZ and NV small businesses, to answer questions about SBA loans and other funding options. SBDC Orange County Inland Empire Network M-W-F Update at 3pm to discuss the Economic Injury Disaster Loan, Payroll Protection Program, Disaster Bridge Loan, 7a Forgiveness Program, and other funding opportunities for business. COVID -19 Resource and Funding Weekly Update hosted by Pacific Coast Regional SBDC every Tuesday at 2:30 pm.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosts a virtual National Small Business Town Hall weekly on Fridays at 9am PST  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce additionally hosts weekly Workshops Wednesdays at 7:30am PST focused on the practical skills needed to keep your business going.  The Los Angeles County Chamber also hosts weekly webinars to ensure that business owners have the information and resource to weather this crisis.

Learn fundamental knowledge of Conventional & CNC Machining, Blueprint Reading, Precision Measurement Instruments, and related manufacturing topics during this interactive Six-Week Academy offered by Los Angeles Valley College. The Manufacturing Academy will begin on Thursday, July 30 th and our Virtual Graduation/Job Fair will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020. Orientations will be held every Wednesday in July at 10 am via Zoom. Starburst Webinar Summary: ' DoD Not Slowing Down: Opportunities for Startups Post COVID-19’ Starburst  hosted a U.S. DoD Virtual Round-Table on May 7 th  titled ‘DoD Not Slowing Down: Opportunities for Startups Post COVID-19’. This webinar featured industry experts from the Air Force,  AF Ventures ,  Space and Missile Systems Center , DoD Rapid Recreation Technology Office,  Navel X ,  Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)  and  In-Q-Tel . Speakers discussed opportunities for startups and small businesses to pitch proposals for innovative new devices or technology to the Air Force through  AFWERX  and directly to potential customers.  Read more here
