AMP SoCal Summit 2020 B2B Appointments with OEMs expanded to the entire month of June In response to Covid-19 we have restructured our Annual Summit as an online B2B Strategic Matchmaking event. As we work to schedule outreach events with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers we found the need to expand appointments to the entire month of June. We will schedule virtual matchmaking appointments using Zoom teleconferencing with participating OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. To ensure this is as productive as possible, we will pre-screen suppliers and only schedule appointments with matching OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers that are seeking specific types of products or services that suppliers provide. To help suppliers prepare for their appointments we're creating a short webinar to review the Do's & Don'ts, and the best way to get the most out of your time with the OEMs. The webinar will be available on our website June 1st. Free Cybersecurity Workshops for A&D Suppliers June 4 - Webinar 10 AM - 11 AM June 25 - Full-day Training 9 AM - 4:30 PM Small manufacturers are at risk of becoming targets of cyber attacks and are often seen as an easy entry point into larger businesses and government agencies. Start protecting your business by attending our free webinar or one-day training. The June 4th webinar is a primer for the full-day training, providing a broad overview DoD cybersecurity requirements and what to expect out of the full-day training. The primary purpose of our June 25th full-day training is to ensure that small businesses are aware of the cybersecurity requirements mandated under Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) Subpart 204.73. The training will explain DoD cybersecurity requirements so you walk away with an understanding of how to make your company compliant. COVID-19's Potential Impact on Global Technology and Data Innovation The global uncertainty caused by COVID-19 has inspired much speculation about the future of geopolitics, technological progress, economics, and culture. The Atlantic Council’s GeoTech Center submitted a questionnaire to more than 100 technology experts to record their expectations about the impact of COVID-19 on innovation technology and data. COVID-19 Webinars and Virtual Forums Throughout Southern California daily and weekly webinars are offered to assist business owners and answer questions about federal emergency relief loans and other business financing options and resources. CDC Small Business Finance hosts a daily webinar at 10am weekdays, Monday through Friday for CA, AZ and NV small businesses, to answer questions about SBA loans and other funding options. SBDC Orange County Inland Empire Network Daily Update at 3pm to discuss the Economic Injury Disaster Loan, Payroll Protection Program, Disaster Bridge Loan, 7a Forgiveness Program, and other funding opportunities for business. COVID -19 Resource and Funding Weekly Update hosted by Pacific Coast Regional SBDC every Tuesday at 2:30 pm.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosts a virtual National Small Business Town Hall weekly on Fridays at 9am PST  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce additionally hosts weekly Workshops Wednesdays at 7:30am PST focused on the practical skills needed to keep your business going.  The Los Angeles County Chamber also hosts weekly webinars to ensure that business owners have the information and resource to weather this crisis.

Starburst Webinar Summary: ' DoD Not Slowing Down: Opportunities for Startups Post COVID-19’ Starburst  hosted a U.S. DoD Virtual Round-Table on May 7 th  titled ‘DoD Not Slowing Down: Opportunities for Startups Post COVID-19’. This webinar featured industry experts from the Air Force,  AF Ventures ,  Space and Missile Systems Center , DoD Rapid Recreation Technology Office,  Navel X ,  Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)  and  In-Q-Tel . Speakers discussed opportunities for startups and small businesses to pitch proposals for innovative new devices or technology to the Air Force through  AFWERX  and directly to potential customers.  Read more here
