Face Forward Is Coming
& This Year's Agenda Is Something Special...
| | |
Dear Friend of RHSF,
We are bringing our community together: patients, caregivers, clinicians, and advocates, for one purpose: to make sure no one navigating Ramsay Hunt syndrome ever feels alone. This year is no exception, and we can't wait to share what we've built for September 19, 2026 in Chapel Hill...
| | | |
We've spent months shaping an agenda for our Face Forward 2026 RHSF Patient Support Summit that speaks to every part of the RHS journey, from the medical questions that keep you up at night, to the identity shifts no one prepares you for, to the small daily practices that make recovery feel possible.
Here's what's in store:
-
What is RHS? A panel of clinical experts takes on the questions you've been holding onto: Botox, synkinesis, recurrence, hearing and balance issues, and what to tell the people who love you.
-
Easing the Tension: During this hands-on workshop, led by three of the world’s top facial nerve therapists, you will practice techniques for tissue mobilization and get individualized instruction and feedback. We will also practice “mind over muscle” and learn how to relax your face muscles and discourage synkinesis.
-
Metamorphosis: Who We Become After Facial Paralysis: author Dr. Faye Linda Wach shares her own journey and lessons from interviewing 100 people living with facial differences, covering identity, microaggressions, and the path to resilience.
-
A Project Launch over Lunch: We're unveiling an RHSF-supported network of online support groups, with updates from Nancy and our patient advocacy board.
-
Facing the Pain: Dr. Wolfgang Liedtke, a renowned facial pain expert, explains why RHS can cause persistent facial pain and what can help alleviate it.
-
Treatment: Ask the Experts: A roundtable of clinicians and therapists will share the newest treatments for balance, hearing loss, pain, and facial paralysis.
-
Mindfulness and RHS: Therapist Mara Robinson, PT, MS, breaks down the science of mindfulness and offers practical techniques for daily recovery.
-
Closing Remarks: A Patient Perspective: Howard Stall, author of Not a Survivor, Still Me: Ramsay Hunt, Bell's Palsy, and the Identity No One Talks About, closes the day.
-
Reception: Because healing happens over cocktails and connection, too!
This isn't just a conference. It's a room full of people who understand exactly what you're going through, and a chance to leave with real answers, real tools, and a community that has your back.
If you haven't yet registered, please plan to join us.
