A Message From the President

Greetings!

As we welcome February, I’m looking forward to another wonderful month filled with friendship, creativity, and shared experiences. Our club calendar is already brimming with exciting opportunities to connect, learn, and have fun together.

We are kicking things off with Sip and Paint on January 27th, a perfect chance to relax, get creative, and enjoy good company. Just a few days later, Fun with Flowers on January 31st will bring color, inspiration, and hands-on floral fun—always a favorite event.

In February, we have a truly special outing planned. On February 25th, we’ll enjoy an historian-led walking tour of beautiful St. Augustine, followed by lunch at the iconic Colombian Restaurant. This promises to be a delightful blend of history, culture, and great food.

And back by popular demand, we’ll be heading into the kitchen with another Cooking Class at Jax Cooking Studio on February 20thThis is sure to be a delicious and entertaining experience!

And our Table Sports continue! Play – whether Bridge, Mah Jongg, Canasta or Games, keep us entertained and connected through the winter months.

Thank you for being such an engaged and enthusiastic group. Your participation is what makes the Sawgrass Women’s Club such a vibrant and welcoming community. I hope to see many of you at our upcoming events.

Warm regards,

Cindy Feeley

SWC February Membership Meeting

Jennifer Walsh

Entrepreneur and Biophilia Pioneer

Jennifer founded Beauty Bar in the 1990s—America’s very first omnichannel beauty brand—right here at the Jacksonville beaches. Long before it became a buzzword, she was designing stores that used nature, light, and beauty to make people feel better, instinctively practicing what we now call biophilic design.

Today, Jennifer’s work sits at the intersection of beauty, nature, and brain science through her company, Lost Art of Being Human. She serves as a faculty advisor for neuroaesthetics research at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard’s Brain Health Initiative, where she studies how our surroundings impact brain health and overall well-being.

In her talk, Jennifer will share her journey as a female entrepreneur and show how simple, thoughtful changes to our everyday environments can have a powerful effect on how we feel, how we age, and how we live.
