Prepare for employment in the electrical and carpentry trades! Individuals 16-29 years old may be eligible for this FREE program which prepares participants for entry level employment in trades positions.

Trades Exploration will be delivered in partnership with Vancouver Island University. There will be a two week carpentry component as well as a two week electrical component. Earn industry recognized certifications including Occupational First Aid Level 1, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined
Space Training and more.

This program starts September 25, 2023 and includes 8 weeks of classroom training (Monday - Friday) and 4 weeks of PAID onsite work experience.

  • The pathway to licensure for IENs can be a challenging one to navigate. Regulatory body requirements, language assessments, and cost are just some of the obstacles that IENs must overcome while working toward their nursing registration in BC. At this virtual information session, Douglas College will share information about the nursing pathway and the College's program eligibility and services. This is a great opportunity for IENs to gain relevant information for their pathway and connect with career coaches for further support and guidance.
