Women of Water
Women of Water had a social February 25 at Rye with approximately 100 women and supportive gentlemen in attendance. We networked and had a meeting about some changes coming up. The Women of Water are officially becoming an association to help empower, educate, and engage women in the water industry through mentoring, events, and professional development. We were grateful for such a great turnout, the support of the IECA along with their staff and national board members, as well as our event sponsor Apex Companies.

"I would like to personally thank the Southeast Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association for awarding me a scholarship to the 2020 annual conference. I am honored to be chosen and greatly appreciate the wonderful opportunity.
I found the conference to be very educational and rewarding. I learned new ideas and management practices that I plan to incorporate into my organization. I also learned about new products that I believe will improve water quality.
The conference was great, and I look forward to using the experience in my career. Thank you for all that you do."
Best regards,
Andrew Lake

Seventh Annual Municipal Wet Weather (MS4) Stormwater Conference
Along with EPA Region 4 and International Erosion Control Association (IECA) Region One, I am excited to announce that the southeast Chapter will once again be hosting the Municipal Wet Weather (MS4) Stormwater Conference. The MS4 Conference annually draws 200 attendees consisting of stormwater managers, city/county professionals, designers, engineers, consultants, contractors and distributors.
This year’s conference is scheduled for June 8-10
th
in Huntsville Alabama. We have a great program lined up and encourage to attend. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
Moving Forward
The IECA and our Chapter are striving to provide the best services for our members. As President, I continue to have a goal to see our Chapter membership involvement expand. We have a great core group of members that volunteer countless hours to provide the great training opportunities and leadership opportunities for our Chapter. I would like to see more of our over 320 Southeast Chapter members become involved. We continue to investigate ways to provide new local opportunities throughout the Chapter for all members to participate in. These opportunities may include but are not limited to lunch-and-learns and after hour socials with other local members and State Representatives. Please let me, or any of our Officers know if you are interested in helping us with implementing this in your area, or if you have any ideas or recommendations on how we can make this happen.
If you have any comments, questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or the other Board Members.
