A Message from our President

Happy November, everyone! With the changing of the seasons comes the changing of the guard with our Board of Directors. This is my last message to you as your President. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you and our organization in this capacity for the past two years. I am so very proud of what our board has accomplished together for you, our treasured members.

We have seen, thanks to help from our state partners, a big increase in membership. We have seen, thanks to the hard work of the committees, great and sold-out event programming that our members love. We are in excellent financial health with solid reserves to weather any potential storms. We have an amazing Scholarship Committee with Alexx Monastiero and Adam Roy (a new board member himself) that is well funded and has great plans to reach out to more of our youth and get them engaged in the trades and our industry. We have given thousands of dollars to worthwhile charities in our region and made a difference in the lives of many people we may never meet.

Your board has come together to use our talents and share our energy to do great things for this organization. Our Strategic Planning has yielded many great initiatives that are being implemented now to lower costs, improve communication, and better steward our members. I am personally excited to continue to see our new Executive Director, Kelly Scobbie, shine. In tough times for nonprofit organizations and trade associations across the state, please know that with Southern New Hampshire Home Builders and Remodelers is in great hands with our staff and your board.

On the statewide front, as it has always been a goal of mine to keep you informed of mission of our organization, we are preparing for battle again. All of the wonderful accomplishments that we achieved in the first part of the legislative session are under attack. Bills have been filed to literally reverse EVERYTHING we accomplished and more. Matt Mayberry and our Government Affairs Committee are not going to allow that to happen. The team is already working on a roadmap to keep all of these great reforms in place so building can be better in New Hampshire. So please take a moment when asked to “click that red button” to email your representatives (it’s super easy and all filled out for you) and let them know that the New Hampshire Home Builders mean business! Every click makes a big difference.

I want to take a moment to thank our retiring board members as well: Christine LaMontagne, Lorinda Gilbert, Travis Terry, and Mike Loughlin. Combined, these fabulous individuals have served our organization for more than 40 years! That’s a true blessing for us. And while they are not serving on the board next year, they are still involved in our organization and its causes. We are grateful to have had their time and energy to steward our organization to these great heights.

I would like to also congratulate our new President: Alison Milioto. I am so excited to see her energy and enthusiasm for our group be put to great use. Ali is so talented and has a passion for all that we do. I am honored to be her Past President and support her on her journey in the coming years like my mentor, Lynette Rogers, did for me. Please support Ali like you supported me. All the kind words at events, emails, and notes go a long way. The next two years are going to be even more awesome!

Lastly, I would like to thank you, our members. We are nothing without you. Your participation, your sponsorship, your involvement is where your board gets its energy and drive to serve. We are one hell of a great organization and it’s because of you and people like our retiring directors who make a long-term commitment to our success. We are truly blessed and it’s been my honor for the past two years to help guide us forward. Thank you for supporting me and my team. I look forward to seeing you at our Holiday Party at Atkinson Country Club in December. Sign up quickly if you haven’t already – we anticipate a lot of cheer and fellowship in a packed house. The sign-up info is below.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for a wonderful two years as your President.

A Message from Kelly

Hello SNHHBRA Members!

It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us—and even harder to believe I’m in my sixth week with SNHHBRA! What an eventful and wonderful six weeks it has been.

First, I want to extend a huge thank you to all of our members and guests who attended our November Social and Board of Directors Installation event last week. It was an honor to celebrate those who have graciously given their time and talents to support and guide our organization throughout the years.

I would also like to recognize and thank our new Directors—Michelle Aprahamian, Adam Roy, and Jeff Paquin—who have so graciously volunteered to serve and lead on our 2025 -2026 Board of Directors. And to our Directors stepping up to serve on the Executive Committee, thank you for your leadership!

I truly look forward to working with our new leadership team:

  • Board President: Ali Milioto
  • Vice President: Mark Berry
  • Treasurer: Jamie Towne
  • Secretary: Alexx Monastiero

I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for SNHHBRA!

If you were unable to attend, we were honored to have State Senate President Sharon Carson conduct the installation. Her inspiring message about supporting local trade industries and trade education programs truly emphasized the importance of our mission as a Home Builders Association.

A special thank you to Eastern Propane & Oil for sponsoring this event at the Holy Grail Pub & Restaurant, providing delicious food and fantastic door prizes. Your support—and the support of all our member sponsors—makes it possible for us to host these events and give back to organizations like Liberty House, which provides services to veterans. Thanks to the success of this year’s Fall Golf Tournament, we were able to make a significant donation!

Looking Ahead:

Our annual Holiday Social and Silent Auction is right around the corner:

(December 12 @ Atkinson Resort & Country Club)

Registrations are now open (see link in this newsletter). There’s still time to become an event sponsor or donate to our highly anticipated Silent Auction! This event will also serve as a Toys for Tots collection site, so we can help make the holidays magical for all children.

On a personal note, as your new Executive Director, I hope as many of you as possible are able to attend because I would love the opportunity to meet and get to know you.

With this being said, my door is always open—if you have questions, suggestions, or just want to chat, please reach out anytime.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! May your tables and hearts be full.

Kelly
