A Message from our President
Happy Summer, everyone! There is so much to unpack, so buckle up and let’s jump in.
First off, it was a great legislative session this year for the New Hampshire Home Builders Association. We scored many victories on behalf of our members: from driveway permitting, to shrinking timelines to get projects going, to Accessory Dwelling Units, to One State One Code, to third party building inspectors, to enhancing our working relationships with state departments like DOT, AOT, and DES, and so much more! – it was a successful many months of hard work and focus. Hats off to Matt Mayberry, the state staff, and the Government Affairs Committee. The Governor has invited us to a ceremonial Housing Bills signing on August 21st. Check your emails for those details and hopefully you can join us in celebrating these accomplishments. Building will be better and easier and more cost effective in 2026!
Who doesn’t love Fall golf? Well I can tell you that as of right now more than 120 people do as we have an almost full Breakfast Hill Golf Club for our fall tournament that is set for October 1st. There are only a few foursomes left, so don’t delay reserving your spot. And don’t delay on your sponsorship sign up as well as they are going just as fast. Check your email for more info. We hope to see you at The Hill on October 1st! Our Golf Committee Chairs this year are Jamie St. Hillaire and Jeremy Duhamel, both members of our board. A big Congrats to Jeremy as he is now the FOUR TIME Club Champion at Manchester Country Club! Is there a green jacket in his future?
With the coming change of seasons, comes some change with Southern NH Home Builders. Our beloved Executive Officer Lisa will be moving on from us after a combined 17 great years of service. Lisa ran both Manchester and Southern separately and then together after the merger. She has been involved, in one form or another, with NH Home Builders for more than 40 years. Her contributions are part of our legacy and what makes Home Builders so great. Personally, and I am sure I speak for more than one President, she has always “had our back.” When we address the crowd and thank our sponsors and make the announcements we need to make and ‘all that jazz,’ Lisa is the person who helps write the script and keep us focused. She has always had a smile and a word of encouragement for everyone she meets. We wish her nothing but the best and we hope that she gets more time with her wonderful husband Paul (a past Home Builders President himself) and her lovely grandkids. It goes without saying that we are eternally grateful for Lisa and all that she has done for us on so many levels. Thank you, Lisa!!
Thank you to you as well, our members. You are the reason why we are excited to serve you. You are the backbone of our organization. With your involvement, membership, and sponsorship, we have never been more successful. Cheers to you!
If there is anything I can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I love meeting with our members to talk about their businesses and how we can help make them better by utilizing their membership to its fullest. I know the careful observers will have noticed a name change in my signature. And I have a new email: RT@novushomemortgage.com. I am always here and ready to serve our membership – I am an email or phone call away.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, keep your swing loose, and keep your clubs ready for October! We’ll see you next at Breakfast Hill.
