A Message from our President

Lots of great news and updates for you this month!

I’d like to start off with a big shout out and Congratulations to one of our wonderful members, Russ Collins at Home Innovations Corp. Russ and Home Innovations was named the SBA New Hampshire Veteran owned Business of the Year by the Small Business Administration. This is an incredible honor for Russ and his whole team. Russ, we are so excited for you and proud our you and your team’s many accomplishments. A well earned and deserved honor indeed.

As I write this, some of you are cleaning off your spikes and knocking the last of the rust off of your golf swings. The 13^th brings us our annual Spring Golf Tournament at Passaconaway Country Club in Litchfield. It’s a full group of golfers and sponsors. The weather is going to be amazing. Thank you in advance to Peter Dolloff and his Committee as well as the volunteers who make this great tournament possible. I can’t wait to see what the winning team shoots!

The Legislative Session in Concord is going full steam ahead. Many of our bills are through the process and are awaiting committees of conference to get finalized and then ready for passage. It has been a busy process and not without some criticism of our industry. Thank you to all who have reached out to their Legislators to ask them to vote Pro Builder. There are many great ideas that will become law and make building in New Hampshire better. They include: curb cuts and the DOT process, soil based zoning, AoT permitting and refining that process, Accessory Dwelling Units by right, ending building permit moratoriums by towns, One State One Code, and other great policies. Our goal at New Hampshire Home Builders is to make the process better. We are also grateful to the many New Hampshire governmental departments that have been active participants and partners to make the process better. Good government happens when people of all walks work together for the common good. And that is happening in New Hampshire!

Lastly, a look ahead: to June and great BBQ! Our friends and fellow members at East Coast Lumber are hosting a wonderful outdoor barbeque and party on June 4^th from 5:30 to 7:30 at their East Hampstead location. There is great food, great networking, and fun outdoor games. It’s a great time to catch up with friends and colleagues right before the summer busy season gets underway. Be on the lookout for the sign up in your email.
