A Message from our President
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! I wish you a safe and joyful celebration this season with family, friends, and colleagues.
Speaking of friends, colleagues, and even family, our Annual Holiday Party and Silent Auction was an absolute hit! What an event! My hats of to Lynette Rogers and the entire Committee and to her many volunteers who made it an event to remember. The food, fellowship, auctions items – everything was top notch! More than 190 of us got together for dinner, fun, and some spirited bidding competition at the Atkinson Country Club on December 4th. The final figures are not in yet, but suffice to say, it was an absolute success financially and by all other measures. If you couldn’t make it, we missed you. Make sure not to miss out on next year’s event.
Who’s ready for a little competition? Our annual Bowling Tournament will be held on January 6th at Merrimack Ten Pin. You can sign up to sponsor as well as sign up your team right away. Be on the lookout in your email for that info. If you are not a bowler, but would like to come to cheer and network, we’d love to have you. We have a ‘non-bowler’ option for you to come and mix & mingle. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
With the new year comes lots of change in Concord. Our new House and Senate were just sworn in last week. We’ll see well over 1,000 bills coming forward from the legislature. That is a lot of reading! Your Government Affairs Committee has already had two meetings to start working on some proactive legislation that aims to help our housing crisis. With a 90,000-unit shortage, this is not a problem, but indeed a crisis. We are going to be out in front trying to pass some laws and change some rules so our Builder Members can get shovels in the ground faster. And we’ll of course be ever vigilant for any bills that threaten our members ability to do what they do best: build housing in our great state!
Also in January, don’t miss out on a chance to buy your ticket to the annual Cornerstone Awards Ceremony held this January at the Grappone Center in Concord. It is a state-wide celebration of all that is great about our members and association. We will have quite a few distinguished guests and a great chance to spend time with policy makers and our fellow members. I hope to see you there!
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, we want to thank you for a wonderful year. We had the best sponsors, the best volunteers, and the best crowds at our events. Together, we broke a lot of records! Thank you for making our job serving you so fun and rewarding. We are grateful for you and we are pleased to serve you.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Ray
