Call for Applications
German Studies Research Grant

This specialized DAAD program offers German Studies Research Grants to highly-qualified undergraduate and graduate students who are nominated by their department/program chairs. The grant may be used for short-term research (one to two months) in Germany. Apply by May 1st, 2018.

DAAD-Leo Baeck Fellowship

The  Leo Baeck Institute  is a research, study, and lecture center for the study of the history and culture of German-speaking Jewry. Fellowships are awarded for research in New York or Germany on the social, communal, and intellectual history of German-speaking Jewry. Learn more about this opportunity at the link below. Short-Term Research Grant

Short-Term Research Grants are awarded for 1-6 months to highly qualified candidates who have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma, or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin their grant supported research, or those who have already completed a PhD (postdocs). Apply by May 1st, 2018.

DAAD Alumna Julia Phillips

Julia Phillips was born and raised in Hamburg. She studied Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Hamburg before attending Columbia’s MFA program and received several DAAD scholarships. Her work is currently on view at the New Museum in New York, and her first institutional solo exhibition will open April 15, 2018 at MoMA PS1, titled Failure Detection.

A worldwide survey by DAAD and Research in Germany seeks to answer these questions.  With your help, we can further improve the services available to international researchers. The survey only takes about 15 minutes to complete.

The project description will differ from scholarship to scholarship. You can find guidelines in the Applicant Checklist for your scholarship by referring to the  General FAQs  and the  guidelines here .
