Theological Reflections on Nationhood

December 4, 11, 18

Bishop Thomas E. Breidenthal explores the history of nationalism and the dangers it presents to our society today. In this week's presentation, the bishop will wrap up the series on international law and its Biblical roots ( Dec 18).

The evening will begin with Evening Prayer in Centennial Chapel at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. The program begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by Compline at 8 p.m. All three programs will be live streamed so that all in the diocese can participate.

St. Mary's, Waynesville, will celebrate its 150th anniversary on Sunday, December 29, with a service of Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m.
Paulette Strolia-Davis clothed as Novice in Anamchara Fellowship
Sr. Paulette Michael's clothing to the Novitiate of the Anamchara Fellowship was held on December 7, 2019, at St. Anne's, West Chester.

Anamchara is a Gaelic word for soul friend. The Anamchara Fellowship is a religious community that includes lay and clergy, married, partnered and single men and women, whose ministries focus on pastoral care, intercessory prayer and spiritual direction.

If you are not able to attend services on Christmas Eve, Christ Church Cathedral will be live-streaming Christmas Eve Eucharist at 4 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on December 24. Click here to view any live streaming events.
An Epiphany Procession

The Christ Church Cathedral choir will perform an Epiphany Procession on Sunday, January 12, at 5 p.m. 

Join us for a service of Scripture, prayer, music, and pageantry that reflects on the three Epiphany mysteries: the revelation of the Christ child to the Magi, the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River, and the turning of water into wine at the wedding in Cana. A Pre-service oboe recital performed by Jacob Martin will begin at 4:30 p.m. This event will also be live streamed .

A new website, EpiscopalCommonPrayer.org ,  provides Episcopalians with opportunities to participate in the liturgical revision called for by Resolution A068 of the 2018 General Convention. The site is available in English and Spanish.
Developed by the Task Force on Liturgical and Prayer Book Revision, the website includes draft documents that outline plans and principles to guide work on new liturgical texts. It also serves as a clearinghouse of all liturgies already approved for use by General Convention.
