Black History 365

Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander

(1898-1989)

She is one of the most notable figures in Black History you’ve likely never heard of. Yet, Dr. Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander’s legacy as a Black economist and lawyer—a story of resilience, breaking barriers, and pioneering possibilities for women of color—is a clarion call to make room for others advancing public well-being in our work and social impact across the world.

Dr. Alexander was a woman of many firsts: ...

BLACK HISTORY 365

Our history goes far beyond the 28 days in the month of February. For the last 4-years, the eMFTH has been featuring BH facts weekly, which is a testament to how much history we have. Keep joining us weekly as we continue to explore and highlight Black History 365!

Our Yearly Theme & Scripture:

Reading Through the Gospels

Available on the BGC website or BGC App

A couple of Sundays ago, Pastor began a new sermon series titled "A Place For You". We are diving deep into the gospels, exploring Jesus' call to the least likely to follow Him. You can rewatch Sunday's sermon here.

As a companion to this series, we are inviting the entire congregation to participate in reading through the gospel accounts together. We truly believe that engaging with the teachings and life of Jesus in this way will be a transformative experience for us all.

To facilitate this journey, we have prepared a reading plan that can be accessed here. We encourage you to join us on this adventure as we seek to grow in our understanding and relationship with Christ.

Together, let's delve into the rich and inspiring words of the gospels, and allow them to shape our hearts and minds. We are excited to embark on this journey with you and look forward to the insights and revelations that will undoubtedly come from our collective study.

Thank you for being a part of our church community, and we can't wait to see the amazing things that will transpire as we embark on this reading plan together.

Remember the Season of LENT

The Lenten Season began on February 14th. We kicked it off with a powerful Ash Wednesday, Hour of Power Service. During this season of repentance & reflection it prepares us for Resurrection Sunday. Watch the replay: It's a Heart Matter

The Life Harvest Food Pantry (LHFP)

Matthew 25:31-40 ... is an anchoring scripture for our ministry, and it is no coincidence that God has "chosen" each of us to serve the least of these in both our local AND global communities!

Your donations matter! Let's continue to work in community to fight food insecurity. Last year the BGC food pantry fed over 4300 individuals.

Help us continue in this service. You can volunteer to stock our shelves or donate to our food pantry. Email [email protected] or visit our website HERE

Are you fluent in another language? We are in need of bilingual volunteers to provide in-person translation, as well as help with translating written correspondence. If that speaks to you, email [email protected]

VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT

As the church grows, the needs grow.

We want to help accommodate all those entering and exiting the parking lot. If you have the gift to patiently direct and guide, email us to volunteer on our Parking Ministry. [email protected]

Volunteer Recuitment is ongoing in all areas of ministry. If you have questions, email us.
