PMA held its annual Honor Society Induction ceremony on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Twenty-seven students were inducted into the various honor societies. Simon Rodriguez and Willa Norma, president and secretary of National Honor Society, were masters of ceremony, and led the NHS Induction. As each student was called up to receive a collar and pin, Simon and Willa read excerpts from their application essays. The SHF (French Honor Society) Induction was led by Daivd Ellard, Shakira Henriquez and Yokairi Perez, and current SHF members assisted in pinning the inductees. Darlenn Castro and Samantha Le led the SHH (Spanish Honor Society) Induction. Finally, Gregory Blomgren was in charge of the Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) induction. The program closed with a performance by Select Chorus. We are very proud of our students' accomplishments!

On Tuesday, October 24 PMA celebrated UN Day filling the hallways with school spirit. Each homeroom selected a country then decorated their homeroom door to reflect their assigned country and wore colors of their flag and/or traditional clothing. Later in the day, they represented their countries in the UN Day games at an all school day assembly. It was the battle of the homerooms as France, Fiji, Egypt, Japan, Spain, Greece, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Belgium, and Mongolia to name a few, battled against each other in games such as school kahoot, a cupcake eating contest, relay racing, two truths and a lie, and dodge-ball. The winners of the door decorating contest was a tie between Egypt (Mrs. MacGregor's homeroom) and Japan (Ms. Gillette's homeroom).
