Summer 2016
It is June and the school year is over.   The class of 2016 graduated and are now officially PMA alumni.  The underclassmen completed their classes, finals and are now on summer vacation.  But until the day finals ended PMA was full of life, as always.    We hope you enjoy reading about all the great things that happened.  Have a great summer and ePathways will resume again in the fall.

PMA Legacys
We love when families recognize the value and merit of a PMA education and continue the tradition to become a PMA legacy family.   Three graduates had mothers who were PMA alumni.

Graduate Nicole Chaisson pictured with her mother Pam (Bernard) Chaisson, '84 on the left and her aunt, Cheryl Chaisson, '84.   Nicole's parents were introduced by her aunt Cheryl, her father is Cheryl's brother.

It's Debatable: American Government Class Debates Immigration Policy
Class during Senior Spirit Week is usually the last thing on a graduating seniors mind; however in Mr. Carney's American Government class, his small group of seniors enjoyed the last week of classes with a "friendly"round of debates.  Unlike other debates, they did theirs sans podium, and faced each other in a round table-approach, where students would argue his/her point one minute and support the opponents point the next.

They debated the hot topic of the current Immigration Policy and specifically the differences between a pathway to citizenship vs. a pathway to legal status; border prot ection; the use of E-Verify to employers; the DREAM Act, and several other issues surrounding immigration.  As true in most debates, students agreed on some issues, yet the room got loud with disagreement on others.

It's Debatable  Continued...

We all Scream for Ice Cream!
What better way to learn about freezing points and chemical reactions than by making ice cream?  Mr. True's chemistry class got a hands on lesson in how chemistry and a little elbow grease is involved in making ice cream.  The best part... the students got to eat their work at the end of class.
Scholarships and Awards
Scholarship winners for the 2016-17 school year

On Monday, June 6, PMA celebrated it's last day of school with a special Mass and award ceremony, recognizing students who received class awards, as well as book awards and scholarships.
