๐ Ready to build a better West Long Beach? ๐
You're receiving this email as a valued Long Beach resident, and as a trusted voice in the community. The City of Long Beach Office of Civic Innovation (OCI) is excited to invite you to participate in a resident-led effort that aims to create opportunities for residents to directly improve the quality of life in West Long Beach ๐.
Over six interactive workshops, youโll work alongside fellow residents, community-based organizations, and City staff to identify challenges and co-create solutions that reflect the needs and priorities of our community ๐ ๏ธ๐ก.
The workshops will take place at Gold Star Manor (3021 N. Gold Star Dr.). Dinner will be provided from 5 โ 6 p.m. ๐ฝ๏ธ, with discussions beginning promptly at 6 p.m.

- Thursday, March 27, from 5 โ 8 p.m.
- Thursday, April 3, from 5 โ 8 p.m.
- Thursday, April 10, from 5 โ 8 p.m.
- Thursday, April 17, from 5 โ 8 p.m.
- Thursday, April 24, from 5 โ 8 p.m.
- Thursday, May 1, from 5 โ 8 p.m.
Whatโs Civic Deliberation?
Civic Deliberation is about residents leading the conversationโnot just being heard but actively shaping decisions that will make a lasting difference in our neighborhoods. ๐๏ธ Through open discussions, problem-solving and teamwork, we will craft ideas that can be turned into real action and change.
Why Join?
As a Civic Deliberation Team member, you will:
- Make your voice heard on the issues that matter most to you ๐ข
- Work directly with City staff and community organizations to find solutions ๐ค
- Develop challenge statements that will guide the Love Your Block mini-grant program, funding resident-led projects that make a difference ๐ฐ
- Be part of a movement that puts the power of change in the hands of the community ๐
To ensure meaningful engagement, we are limiting participation in the Civic Deliberation Team to 15 residents.
