"You can take an Indian out of India, but you can never take India out of an Indian" - An Indian

The National Indo-American Museum (NIAM) would like to share with you what your support has enabled us to accomplish in 2018, and also what we hope to achieve, with your continued partnership, in the coming year!

On Dec 1, 2018, we announced our re-branding as the 'National Indo-American Museum' . With your help, we can move to the national stage and can aim at becoming the national repository of the entire spectrum of the Indian-American experience.

Throughout the year, we reached out to hundreds of visitors (and to countless more on line) in schools, neighborhoods, senior centers, arts and cultural institutions, park districts and community centers, to promote the awareness of Indian-American culture, celebrating all its glorious diversity.

Through ' Ethnic Dialogue' , we interacted with students from elementary schools, to Ph.D candidates, helping them gain greater appreciation of our immigrant history and vibrant culture.

'A Taste of India' brought together a whole plethora of food lovers to Devon Avenue, to enjoy an evening sampling delicacies from corners of our great nation!
We also conducted presentations for curious seniors and eager students of 'World Religion' on Indian religious diversity and Chicago’s Indian American religious architectural heritage of ' Sacred Sites'.
Through our enthusiastic participation in ' Cultural Outreach' parades (downtown Chicago and Naperville), our partnerships with ethnic museums and local theaters, promotion of national sports like cricket, and popular Indian festivals like Diwali, we effectively engaged public interest, indulged in inclusiveness with the larger community/ other groups, while also celebrating our cultural heritage.

We look forward to your continued patronage, so that we can carry on our mission of: providing educational programs, preserving/ promoting Indo-American history, promoting the unique cultural perspective of immigrants, celebrating our contributions in many fields, as well as expanding our reach into the national arena in 2019.
