Just having completed the High Holy Days, it's time to actualize our good intentions.
And...just having completed the High Holy Days journey, it is now time to celebrate! Sukkot starts Monday night. Communal celebration on Sukkot marks the completion of the cycle of the Tishrei holy days, moving from introspection to implementation of teshuvah and our good intentions = joy! Congregation Kehillah members are invited to eat safely in our sukkah in celebration of this remarkable season, so that you can fulfill the mitzvah of eating in a sukkah while enjoying the company of friends who you are comfortable being around. (To reserve your spot, email, info@congregationkehillah.org.)
The Chasidic rebbes teach that what we accomplish on the High Holy Days through our introspection and fasting and tears, we can accomplish on Sukkot and Simchat Torah with celebration!
Sukkot ends Tuesday the 28th and we will hold a Yizkor service that morning online at 10:00 a.m. Simchat Torah follows on the 29th. More about this in next week's candle lighting reminder.
Candle lighting on Monday night is 6:09 p.m.
