Leading through Equity-based MTSS for All Students
The SWIFT Education Center and the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction have partnered together to bring principals and leadership teams virtual and in-person learning series. Equity and inclusion are principles that mattered before COVID-19 and continue to matter as schools reopen. Together, we aim to create equity-based MTSS that makes a lasting impact on each of our students and bring about a culture of schooling that demonstrates high levels of academic, behavioral, and social outcomes.

This learning series is fully sponsored and no cost to participants! In fact, each school program will receive $5,000 to help with costs associated with travel, substitutes and other expenses. The next learning series starts September 28, 2020.

What are the objectives?

This learning series will develop school leaders’ equity mindset and understanding of the complete range of student variability, as well as lay out a pathway for their school to become an equitable and inclusive learning environment that supports students with all types of learning needs and life circumstances.

Specifically, the series will align with four of Washington’s special education priorities. Leadership, Growth Mindset, Evidence-based Practices, and Resource Allocation.
