Long Beach will soon be breaking ground on long-awaited improvements made to the city's waterfront concession areas that will include a "game box" with chess and ping-pong tables, a play dune for children, beach rentals, a cafe, increased bike parking, additional bike share rentals, and increased security and lighting.

The public is invited to ADA Community Meetings to help design pedestrian pathways. Community input is needed to devise a plan that will make the City inclusive, accessible and welcoming for all.

The City’s Skylinks at Long Beach Golf Course received State recognition for its industry-leading initiatives, golf programming and community involvement.

Transportation in and around Long Beach will become more exciting. Year-round water taxis will soon be available on weekends. Additionally, Long Beach Transit and UCLA Transit are developing a line from Long Beach to UCLA. Bruins, rejoice!

The Long Beach City Council Moves Forward on Breaking Ground on Waterfront Amenities
On Tuesday, March 5, the Long Beach City Council voted to break ground on one of three proposed concession areas along the Waterfront next month. Alamitos Beach, just south of the Villa Riviera and east of Shoreline Drive, will be the first area to have construction begin.
Long Beach Transit and UCLA Partner to Provide Commuter Bus 
The commute for UCLA students that live in Long Beach will soon be easier thanks to a partnership between the university and Long Beach Transit. Recently, UCLA Transportation announced that they will soon provide a commuter bus from Long Beach to the UCLA campus. More details coming in April!
Long Beach Transit Announced Water Taxis to add Year-Round Service on Weekends
Long Beach Transit recently announced that starting on Friday, March 8, AquaLink and AquaBus will have services on Saturdays and Sundays all year. The taxis will still offer their traditional summer service running seven days a week from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
Skylinks at Long Beach Golf Course Named 'Course of the Year'
The City’s Skylinks at Long Beach Golf Course (Skylinks) has been named “Course of the Year” by the California Golf Course Owner’s Association (CGCOA) for its industry-leading initiatives, golf programming and community involvement.
The Public is Invited to ADA Community Meetings to Help with Citywide Plan for Pedestrian Facilities
The community is invited to public hearings hosted by the City of Long Beach’s Citizen’s Advisory Commission on Disabilities (CACoD) happening on Tuesday, March 12 at noon, in the City Council chamber and on Wednesday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the Michelle Obama Library.

Attendees will be presented a summary of results of the City’s American with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) self-evaluation for pedestrian facilities. The same information will be presented at both hearings.
Long Beach Public Library’s New Website Reveals a Treasure Trove of Free Digital Resources 
Visitors are encouraged to explore the new website and sign up for the Library's mailing list to receive direct email newsletters. The new site has an updated Digital Library that is user-friendly by helping readers easily find resources for their specific needs.
Long Beach Police Department Unites with Local Youth at Trust-Building Event
The Long Beach Police Department partnered with the Kiwanis Clubs of Greater Long Beach to host the third annual Kiwanis “Kids and Cops” trust-building and youth engagement event at Lindbergh Middle School. Youth met and played team sports with police as a way to connect and build trust with the community.
