The City of Long Beach is now accepting plans from licensed California architects and engineers for its Pre-Approved Accessory Dwelling Unit Program (Program)!
 
The City is seeking local design professionals and firms to provide prototype accessory dwelling unit (ADU) plans and/or manufactured ADU designs that can be made available for use by property owners in Long Beach in an effort to help streamline the ADU approval process.
 
To qualify for the Program, design professionals must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a licensed California architect or engineer
  • Be local to the Long Beach area and hold a place of practice in Los Angeles County or Orange County
  • Submit of up to two (2) single-story, freestanding ADUs of up to 1200 sq. ft. each.
