On February 20, 2020, the Planning Commission will consider recommending that the City Council accept Negative Declaration and approve the following Zoning Code amendments to Title 21 of the Long Beach Municipal Code:

Omnibus Zoning Code Update Round 3
The City of Long Beach Planning Bureau is conducting quarterly tune-ups to modernize the City’s Zoning Code. The proposed Project consists of changes to Title 21 of the Long Beach Municipal Code that would amend various sections of the code related to the following: storage attics; publicly run, post-secondary educational uses; non-permanent fabric canopies; remnant CO (Office Commercial) and CH (Highway Commercial) zoning district use regulations; personal storage and commercial storage/personal storage uses; aerospace manufacturing uses; temporary activating uses on vacant lots; and applicability of new uses and unspecified development standards in specific plans and planned development districts.

Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, a Negative Declaration (ND) has been prepared for the project and finds that the project would not have any potential significant adverse environmental impacts. The ND (16-19) was circulated for a 30-day public review period between January 2, 2020 and February 3, 2020. The Initial Study and ND are on file and are available by visiting the City’s Environmental Reports page at www.longbeach.gov/lbds/planning/environmental/reports/ , as well as at the following locations: City of Long Beach, Development Services Department, 411 W. Ocean Boulevard, 3 rd  Floor, Long Beach, CA 90802; Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library and Billie Jean King Main Library.  See the notice .

Should you decide to challenge either of these projects, you may be limited to the issues raised during this public review period. Please submit written comments to Cynthia de la Torre, Planner at Cynthia.DeLaTorre@LongBeach.gov .
