On May 18, 2020, the City of Long Beach announcedthe Great Plates Delivered Program, a free home meal delivery service for older adults. In partnership with local food providers and restaurants, older adults who are at high risk of COVID-19, can receive up to three free nutritious meals delivered daily. The City released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to contract with multiple Long Beach food providers to prepare and package the meals.
Restaurants and food providers interested in participating in the Program are encouraged to complete the RFP process, which closes this Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM (PDT). To participate in the RFP process, interested business owners should visit the City’s Financial Management Department Purchasing Bureau webpage. Please note that City staff are not permitted to communicate with business owners during the RFP process. Please direct all RFP-related questions to RFPPurchasing@longbeach.gov.
LISC Small Business Relief Grants Opportunity
Long Beach Small Businesses are encouraged to apply for the LISC Small Business Relief Grants opportunity that supports small businesses and enterprises affected by COVID-19 across the country. Grant awards will be made in the amounts of $5,000, $7,500 and $10,000. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, May 20, 2020 by 11:59 PM (EDT).
