New affordable housing is underway at Long Beach's Century Villages at Cabrillo


The Century Villages at Cabrillo, a sprawling 27-acre public housing complex just north of Downtown Long Beach, is getting a new addition called the Cove. The Cove will feature 90 affordable and supportive homes.

Community Invited to Help Shape New Zoning Regulations for E-Commerce and Delivery-Only Retail


The City of Long Beach is hosting a virtual community meeting on Aug. 31, 2022, to solicit public input on a Zoning Code update that will address the regulation of e-commerce and delivery-only retailers throughout the city.

  

Residents, business owners or managers and entrepreneurs are encouraged to learn more and provide input by participating in an evening virtual meeting presented by the Long Beach Development Services Department, as listed below. Attendees may RSVP online. Interpretation services will be provided upon request in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog.

City Launches Request for Proposals for Community Organizations to Expand or Launch New Promotora/Community Health Champion Programs


The City of Long Beach is seeking to partner with community organizations to expand existing or launch new Promotora/Community Health Champion (P/CHC) programs that promote education and wellness opportunities across Long Beach communities. P/CHC are community navigators, care coordinators and community engagement champions who focus on increasing community access and connection to health screenings, health education, and mental health and well-being resources. Eligible organizations are encouraged to submit proposals through the City’s procurement platform, Long Beach Buys.
