Mayor Robert Garcia and the Long Beach City Council have asked City staff to begin planning for the reopening of the Long Beach economy. Two important updates and ways that you can participate are described below.
Economic Relief Package
On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, the Long Beach City Council
unanimously adopted
25 individual initiatives related to the local
Economic Relief Package
that will help working families and small business owners impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be many opportunities for you to contribute your input on the approved initiatives. For the immediate, please complete the

The Survey is intended to evaluate the potential impacts to Long Beach businesses caused by COVID-19 and determine what resources may be necessary to aid in the resiliency and recovery of all businesses citywide.
Economic Recovery Advisory Group
Over the weekend, Mayor Garcia announced the formation of the new
Economic Recovery Advisory Group
that will begin to prepare recommendations for safely and responsibly reopening the local economy. This Advisory Group will be led by former Mayor Bob Foster and will likely include several local business leaders representing different sectors of the economy and community. With at least four full weeks remaining of the current “Safer at Home” Health Order, it is time for all of us to collaborate and work together in preparing to “reopen the Long Beach economy”. We appreciate everyone’s dedication and efforts during this time.
