MAY 2020
Bike Month begins May 1st and we have lots of resources and activities to share with you. Our in-person events and rides will be postponed in order to remain Safer At Home , but there are still plenty of ways to celebrate Bike Month. Make sure to follow @GoActiveLB on Twitter , Instagram , and Facebook to stay up to date. Here's a preview of some of the tips we will be sharing throughout the month to help you stay safe while remaining active.
Bike Shops are Essential
If your bike requires maintenance, the GoActiveLB Hub and other bike shops in Long Beach are open and serving local riders. Also, if you don't want to venture out, our friends at Pedal Movement offer contact-free door to door pick-up and drop-off for bike maintenance and repair. Be sure to call ahead to get hours and physical distancing information.
Eat and Support Local
Looking for ways to support local restaurants and shops from the comfort of your home? Maritime Bike Courier is here to help; their fleet of bike couriers can deliver straight to your door. You can support a sustainable delivery service and enjoy your favorite Long Beach shops and restaurants, with just a few clicks from your phone or computer. Be sure to check out their website for menus and delivery zones.
Self-Guided Bike Tours
Keep an eye out every Wednesday for a new self-guided, stress relieving ride featuring some of Long Beach's best sites, including hidden murals and historic architecture. We will be posting these rides on social media, so follow us @GoActiveLB to join in on the fun! Also, it is important to head outside, but we want to remind riders to comply with physical distancing —so let's have some solo rides.
