COVID-19 Parking Relief Update - 09/08/2020
Dear COVID-19 Street Parking Relief Permit Recipient,

The City of Long Beach is currently evaluating an extension to the COVID-19 Parking Relief Program to residents in parking-impacted neighborhoods. This temporary permit program was created in an effort to mitigate parking impacts caused by COVID-19. This program expiration was set for September 7, 2020, but staff are currently evaluating feasibility, and duration, for extension. Therefore, we will provide users with a two-week notification prior to expiration and hope to have an update on the new program timeline the week of September 14, 2020. Until otherwise notified, you may continue to park at the locations listed below, with your existing permit.

The City of Long Beach also is continuing increased courtesy parking time for on-street parking meters. All on-street parking meters allow for 15 minutes of free parking to accommodate those picking up food from local restaurants, while still having parking meters in effect to allow for turnover of spaces serving essential businesses. To claim the free 15 minutes of parking, residents can press the green button on the parking meter.
