PARKLET PERMIT UPDATE
BUSINESS OPEN STREETS
Dear Business Owner,

In the City of Long Beach’s continuous efforts to support our local businesses during COVID-19, the City Council has voted to extend the Open Streets Program through December 31, 2020. In the coming days, Long Beach staff will be working with you to update and renew your existing Open Streets temporary parklet which expired October 31, 2020. Please be advised that renewing your permit beyond October 31 may require you to make modifications to your existing parklet.

All current Open Streets businesses will be required to submit updated information to the City of Long Beach and receive a new temporary parklet permit by Friday, November 20, 2020. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of your business parklet. If you do not wish to renew your Open Streets temporary parklet permit, please let staff know so we can work with you to schedule barricade pick-up.

There are several loan and grant options available that may be used towards parklet modifications. For more information on these programs, please visit the COVID-19 Business Support Page.

The Open Streets Parklet Application is available to begin the Parklet Permit Renewal Process. Please complete and submit the application, as well as any questions you may have to goactivelb@longbeach.gov.

Sincerely,

Carl Hickman
