New Hope for the Holidays:

A conversation about Grief

For those who have experienced a death of a loved one, the holidays can heighten the feelings of anxiety, sadness, longing, loneliness, guilt, and even anger. Activities that are meant to bring families together can be strained and difficult, but there are ways to cope with these challenges and make the time enjoyable.


Attendees will learn specific strategies for managing the activities and emotions that come along during this time of year.

 

The event is open to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one, and those who are supporting grieving friends, family, or children. The event is free to attend, please register online at http://www.newhopegrief.org/holidays/. If you have questions please call (562) 429-0075 extension 2 or email New Hope at support@newhopegrief.org.

Una conversación sobre el duelo

Para aquellos que han experimentado la muerte de un ser querido, las tiempos festivos pueden aumentar los sentimientos de ansiedad, tristeza, anhelo, soledad, culpa e incluso ira. Las actividades con el proposito de unir a las familias pueden ser tensas y difíciles, pero hay formas de afrontar estos desafíos y hacer que el tiempo sea agradable.


Los asistentes aprenderán estrategias específicas para gestionar las actividades y emociones que surgen durante esta época del año.


El evento está abierto a cualquier persona de la comunidad que haya experimentado la muerte de un ser querido y a aquellos que apoyan a amigos, familiares o niños en duelo. It helps veterans and their families find resources and offers live veteran-to-veteran navigators.

 

If you are a veteran or know someone who is, VetNow can help with:

  • finding resources available to veterans and their families

The app features: 

  • New and improved way to report graffiti, potholes, fireworks, e-scooter parking violations, and more!
  • Improved functionality for users to track the status of requests and receive more transparent communications from City staff regarding requests.
  • Enhanced compliance with the City’s Language Access Policy. The app is fully available in Spanish, Khmer, and Tagalog.
  • Greater visibility for the public to view requests that are being addressed throughout the city.
