Neighborhood Activation

In an attempt to address the increase of gun and community violence throughout Long Beach, AOC7, Washington Neighborhood Association, Puente Latino Association, and Habitat for Humanity, are working with various nonprofits and neighborhood associations to conduct community events this Summer.


Over 700+ residents were engaged in two community events hosted at 14th St Park in the Washington Neighborhood and on Gaviota Ave, between 10th & 11th St.



Join us in congratulating AOC7, Washington Neighborhood Association, Puente LA, Habitat for Humanity, and all of the participating organizations and associations for their amazing work!

En un intento por abordar el aumento de la violencia armanda y violencia comunitaria en Long Beach, AOC7, Washington Neighborhood Association, Puente Latino Association, y Habitat for Humanity, estan trabajando con varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro y asociaciones de vecindarios para realizar eventos comunitarios este verano.


Más de 700 residentes se han involucrado en dos eventos comunitarios organizados en 14th St Park en el vecindario de Washington y en Gaviota Ave, entre 10th y 11th St.

Community Highlights

Centro CHA, Inc. hosted a Back to School - Community Resource Fair, Backpack Giveaway and Vaccination Clinic on Thursday, August 19th at Drake Park, which engaged 133 households and a total of 490 people registered at the event.


Highlights

  • Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services administered 64 vaccinations.
  • 151 backpacks were provided filled with school supplies and hygiene supplies for kids.
  • Free community resources and food was provided from a local vendor.


Centro CHA, Inc. hosted a Back to School Community Resource Fair, Backpack Giveaway, and Vaccination Clinic - Thursday, August 26th at Orizaba Park, which engaged 135 head of households and a total of 427 people registered at the event.


Highlights


  • Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services administered 55 Vaccinations.
  • 202 backpacks were provided filled with school supplies and hygiene supplies for kids.
  • Free community resources and food provided from local vendor.
  • Free Ice cream and churros was provided by the California Department of Public Health.
