A warm handshake from Reaching HOPE
It's Nice to Meet You!
Reaching HOPE is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Commerce City, CO with a mission to provide compassionate and supportive mental health services to trauma survivors , including those impacted by:
  • sexual abuse / assault
  • domestic violence
  • child abuse
  • other traumatic events

We believe healthy relationships heal trauma. We are a team of passionate psychologists who provide psychotherapy to trauma survivors and their support system . We bring together safe family members to help trauma survivors heal from abuse. Healthy and safe families are our priority!
What We've Been Up To
Reaching HOPE was co-founded by licensed psychologists, Dr. Aubrey Austin and Dr. Ambra Born in 2011. Since opening our doors, we:
  • Served 1,265 trauma survivors with mental health services, helping families heal and break cycles of abuse
  • Provided over 10 trauma trainings for police officers, victim advocates, CASA workers, and treatment providers
  • Trained 11 doctoral students on providing trauma-informed care through a year-long externship
  • Expanded our staff by hiring two more psychologists and moved into a larger office space
  • Expanded our office hours to be open an additional day (Mondays), accommodating the recent change in nearby schools to be off on Mondays
#MeToo - Rising Movement, Rising Need for Services
Did you know that 1 out of 3 females and 1 out of 6 males are victims of sexual assault? With the #MeToo movement, now more than ever before, survivors are coming forward with their stories of abuse and assault. We are seeing our client numbers soar, while at the same time, federal funding for crime victims to receive mental health services has been cut by nearly half.

Reaching HOPE supports all trauma survivors who are impacted by sexual assault. The #MeToo movement is a powerful wave, raising awareness about the prevalence of sexual assault in our society. We commend survivors for their bravery in telling their stories, and we believe you.

Now is the time for change! You can help by:
  • Listening to survivors who share their stories. Start by believing.
  • Promote awareness. This topic is difficult to talk about, but discussion is the only way to awareness. Discuss your values of respecting women
  • Share resources. 1 in 3 women you know are impacted. Give them Reaching HOPE's number; we are here to help!
  • Volunteer, join the board, or make a donation to support Reaching HOPE's efforts to serve every survivor who wants therapy!
What We Plan To Do
In 2019 Reaching HOPE plans to:
  • Grow our Board of Directors--an active board is key to our success!
  • Begin a research program to document the efficacy of our therapeutic model
  • Expand our grant funding and fundraising efforts so that more trauma survivors can be seen, regardless of their ability to pay or eligibility for crime victim compensation
  • Host an open house to connect with our community
  • Roll out a new electronic medical record system to streamline record keeping and free up time to spend on clinical care
We Need Your Help!
