The Thanksgiving holiday represents a chance to pause, reflect, check in with ourselves and one another, and perhaps most importantly to consider what makes us feel truly grateful.

The last year have underscored what we here have long known: Home is absolutely critical. It is the foundation for being safe, healthy, and productive.

Yet, more than 650,000 people in the U.S. remain homeless, with many of them sleeping outdoors. And more than 47 million people in the U.S. face hunger, including 1 in 5 children. Many are families, people with disabilities, or veterans. And each one of them deserves a safe, stable place to call home and a warm meal to eat.

We hold firm to our hope that one day soon they will each be housed and will have access to the critical support services they may need and basic necessities such as food. We have spent another year working hard to turn that hope into reality, to protect the most vulnerable people and to decrease the overall number of people who have to experience hunger and homelessness.

If you or someone you know if seeking housing services, please contact Beds Plus Care.
